About Us
Here’s why we believe you should choose J L Connolly to undertake your painting project.
- Members of the NZ Master Painters since 1969.
- Members of Site Safe, our painters hold Site Safe Certification with our supervisors gaining Gold Card accreditation.
- Health and Safety. A job Safety Plan and Hazard Identification form is completed prior to starting every job. This gives you peace of mind that our team will be using approved safety methods while on your site. All our Foremen have Advanced Work at Heights Certification and over 20 of our team are certified to operate Elevated Work Platforms.
- Drug and Alcohol Policy. All workers starting employment with J L Connolly Ltd must provide us with a negative drug test prior to starting their employment. We then have a Drug and Alcohol Policy that ensures our workplace is a drug free environment.
- First Aiders. We ensure a minimum of 1 in 3 of our on-site team hold a current First Aid ticket.
- Quality Control. Our Contract Supervisors use our in-house quality control register to “double check” our workmanship and quality prior to completion of the contract.
- Communication. With three Contract Supervisors overseeing our team, you can be assured that the communication lines will always be open between you, our on-site team and our office.
- Resene Eco.Decorators. The Resene Eco. Decorator programme has been designed to recognise environmentally responsible, quality focused painting contractors. This includes assessments of principles in practice, sustainable work practices, waste management, project plans and project sign off processes. Only contractors who successfully meet these standards can promote themselves as an authentic Resene Eco.Decorator.
- Dulux EnviroWash. The Dulux EnviroWash System is an innovative, water-based treatment system that turns paint wash-out into clean water and inert solid waste, allowing for easier and safer disposal. The Dulux EnviroWash System provides an environmentally friendly way of washing out painting tools, and minimises the negative impact of traditional paint waste disposal methods.
- Investment. We invest a great deal of time and training into our team to ensure we have the systems in place to provide you with the best possible chance of a safe, environmentally friendly, quality job completed on time (with the paperwork to back it up).

HEALTH SAFETY & THE ENVIRONMENT
J L Connolly Ltd takes the health and safety of each individual in the vicinity of the worksite very seriously. All contracts commence with the completion of our Job Safety Plan.
We are members of Site Safe New Zealand with all members of our team trained in site safety. All supervisors have achieved Gold Card status.
The environmental impact of paint is diverse. Traditional painting materials and the processes can have harmful effects on the environment, including those from the use of lead and other additives.
J L Connolly, take measures to reduce environmental impact. These include:
- Accurately estimating paint quantities so that wastage is minimized
- Use of paints, coatings, painting accessories and techniques that are environmentally preferred.
- We use and recommend the Dulux Envirowash System – converting dirty wash water into clean water and disposing of the solids in the appropriate manner.
